MEET MY GRANDFATHER
Truffles Barbarigo are known and loved in Greece since 1965, when Joseph Barbarigos first created this chocolate specialty. Educated by French chefs and inspired by his Italian origin, he established the first luxury pastry shop in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. His name soon became synonymous to exquisite quality and taste. Until the early 2000’s the traditional pastry shop was famous for its chocolate and coconut truffles, while offering a full range of traditional Greek pastries. In 2004, we created a brand new workshop and sales outlet in Heraklion, dedicated exclusively to dessert truffles, as we wanted to revive my grandfather's legacy. In 2015, a second sales outlet opened in Kifisia, Athens.
We now specialize in a wide variety of dessert truffles. They all have unique and natural flavors, made exclusively from pure ingredients, with no artificial additives. The truffle collection is complemented by traditional Greek baked specialties and desserts.
Our retail shops are small boutiques with a relaxed, elegant atmosphere and a touch of luxury, where an oil-in-canvas painting dominates the space.
Guests are welcome to try our different types of dessert truffles and baked goods while they browse books about chocolate and listen to classical music. We believe that this welcoming atmosphere adds a warm feeling of hospitality.
